You can sail, dive, water-ski, swim, and canoe along the crystal clear waters of the rivers Orb, Cesse and L'Herault. You have tennis, cycle hire, horseriding, walking and the long sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are 5 minutes drive away or an easy cycle ride. The excellent St Thomas golf club is 12km away.
The biggest rollercoaster in France can be found at Europark, along with 3.5 hectares of fun and games, 16km away and the Aqualand watersports park is a great day out for all the family and 25km away.
The medieval fortified city of Carcassonne has been classified as a world heritage site, and you have the Cathar castles of Queribus and Peyrepertuse. The beautiful 13C cathedral in Narbonne is certainly worth a visit and there are a multitude of churches and historic sites- Roman remains in Nimes, the famous Pont du Gard; and stunning gorges, grottoes and canyons.
The magnificent vineyards of the Minervois and Corbires, where the patrons of a hundred different caves eagerly await your appreciation of their wines, surround us. The markets in every town are a feast for the senses and the traditional market in Srignan is held on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. There are stunning displays of fruit & veg, a huge olive stall, mountains of cheeses and saucissons. There are stalls of clothes, pottery, leather goods, jewellery and a bar under the plane trees to recharge your batteries when you get that weary feeling, but haven't quite seen EVERY stall......
